From a young age, Ann has thought about her place in the universe and the meaning of life. In second grade she began exasperating her Catholic school teachers with her questions about religion. After moving to Crested Butte, Colorado in 1996, it was this interest in philosophy which led Ann to her first Iyengar yoga class with Gary Reitze. She immediately became a dedicated student, loving how calm yet energized she felt after class. She never thought she would or could be a yoga teacher, but years later when her teachers traveled to India to celebrate BKS Iyengar's 80th birthday she very reluctantly agreed to sub for them. To her surprise, Ann enjoyed teaching and she began the rigorous five year process to become certified in the Iyengar tradition. She has since become a certified Level 2 teacher and has studied at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India. Wanting to deepen her knowledge of anatomy and kinesiolgy, Ann returned to school to become a licensed physical therapist assistant with an advanced certification in pelvic floor rehabilitation. Classes with Ann have been described as challenging yet fun and inclusive of students of all abilities. Ann is grateful to all of her teachers for enriching her life and filling her with a sense of purpose.
